Loudcode vs OpenTweet: release announcements or the whole build?
Updated · 5 min read
OpenTweet is an X scheduler with a strong automation angle: connectors for GitHub, RSS, Stripe and APIs, a developer API and a Claude Desktop extension. Of all the tools here, it's the closest to Loudcode, so the differences are worth spelling out.
The short answer
OpenTweet is best when you want posts to go out automatically from events: a new release, a star milestone, an RSS item.
Loudcode is best when you want to share the whole build, day to day, and approve every post before it goes out.

What OpenTweet does well
- Connectors that turn events into posts automatically. Its GitHub connector posts when you publish a release or cross star and fork milestones, with AI writing the release announcement.
- A developer API and a Claude Desktop extension, for scripting your X posting.
- Scheduling, an evergreen queue, X Articles and analytics.
On its pricing page (checked October 2026), OpenTweet lists Pro at $19.99 a month, Advanced at $29 and Agency at $49, each with a 7-day trial that needs a card.
Where Loudcode is different
- The everyday work, not just releases. Most weeks don't have a release. Loudcode drafts from commits and merged pull requests, so the bug fix, the refactor and the small feature get their moment too.
- Review first, always. Loudcode never posts on its own. Every draft waits for you, because a build in public account that reads automated loses the replies that make it worth doing.
- Your numbers, carefully. Revenue milestones from Stripe, Polar and RevenueCat, traffic from PostHog, and a monthly numbers post. Loudcode only states what it can see.
- The story behind the work. The weekly check-in captures what was hard and what you decided, which no connector can see.
- MCP for every coding tool. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code and Cline can all draft posts from your session.
- A free plan, no card needed.

Which one should you pick?
Pick OpenTweet if you want hands-off announcements: releases and milestones posted automatically, and an API to script the rest.
Pick Loudcode if you want to build in public properly: regular posts about the real work, in your voice, that you approve first.
Try it on a normal week
Releases are easy to announce. The real test is an ordinary week of commits. Connect a repo on Loudcode's free plan and see what it finds.
