Loudcode vs Typefully: which one for building in public?
Updated · 5 min read
Typefully is one of the best writing tools for X. It's calm, fast and well designed, and plenty of developers who build in public use it every day. So if you're looking at Loudcode, the honest question isn't "which is better". It's "which problem do I actually have?"
The short answer
Typefully is for people who know what they want to say and want a great place to write, schedule and polish it.
Loudcode is for builders who ship every day but don't post, because the hard part isn't the editor. It's sitting down and turning a week of commits into something worth reading.

What Typefully does well
- A writing experience people love. Distraction-free drafts, threads that are easy to rearrange, and a clean preview.
- Scheduling across platforms. X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and more from one place.
- AI help while you write. Rewrites, suggestions and ideas inside the editor.
- Analytics and team features for creators and companies that post a lot.
If you already have a steady flow of things to say, Typefully is a very good home for them.
Where Loudcode is different
Typefully starts with an empty box. Loudcode starts with your work.
- It reads what you shipped. Connect GitHub and Loudcode turns commits, merged pull requests and releases into drafts. Connect Stripe, Polar, RevenueCat or PostHog and your first sale, MRR milestones and traffic jumps become posts too.
- It writes for strangers. Every draft uses your product description, so "fixed the race condition in the queue" becomes a post someone who's never heard of your app understands.
- It works from your editor. Ask Claude Code, Codex or Cursor to "post about what we just shipped" and the draft lands in Loudcode, in your voice.
- It fills quiet weeks. A 30-second weekly check-in turns into a week of posts, and Ideas finds stories in your numbers and repo when you didn't ship much.
- It shows the work. Posts about something visual get a screenshot of that page on your live site.

Which one should you pick?
Pick Typefully if you enjoy writing, you post on several platforms, and you mainly want a beautiful editor and scheduler.
Pick Loudcode if you build every day but your X account is quiet, and you'd rather review a draft than write one from scratch. Especially if you build with AI tools, since your session already holds the story.
Use both if you like Typefully's editor for your personal posts and want Loudcode to make sure your shipping never goes unannounced. Loudcode drafts can be copied anywhere.
Try it with your own repo
The fastest way to see the difference is your own commit history. Connect a repo on the free plan and look at the drafts Loudcode writes from last week. If they're not better than the blank box, you've lost five minutes.
