Connect GitHub

Let Loudcode read what you ship: commits, pull requests and releases.

What it unlocks

GitHub is where Loudcode learns what you shipped. Commits, merged pull requests, releases and streaks become post ideas and drafts, and the repo helps Loudcode understand your product.

  • Drafts from the commits you pick (New post, then From my work)
  • Release and milestone posts, like your first 100 commits
  • Ideas from your repo's history for quiet weeks

Connect it

  1. Start the connection
If you're in onboarding, it's the second step. Otherwise: In Loudcode, open Settings in the sidebar, find GitHub under Code and click Connect.
  2. Choose repos on GitHub
GitHub asks which repos Loudcode may read. Pick the ones for your products. Private repos are fine.
  3. Pick the repo for this product
Back in Loudcode, choose which repo is this product. Each product (workspace) has one repo.
  4. Check it worked
Your recent activity shows up under Activity within a minute. Click Sync now in Settings if it doesn't.

What Loudcode can see

Loudcode can
  • Read commit messages, pull requests and releases
  • Read a few files (like the README) to understand the product
  • Only the repos you chose
Loudcode can't
  • Change code, open issues or push anything
  • See repos you didn't choose
  • Share your code with anyone

Troubleshooting

  • My repo isn't in the list. Use Choose repos in Settings to give Loudcode access to it on GitHub, then come back.
  • No activity shows up. Loudcode looks at the last two weeks. Push something, then click Sync now.
