2 minAll plansRead-only
What it unlocks
- Visitor milestones, like your first 1,000 visitors in a week
- Signup milestones, if you tell Loudcode your signup event
- Your traffic on Home, and better post ideas from your numbers
Connect it
- Create a personal API keyIn PostHog, open Settings, then Personal API keys, and create a key named
Loudcode. - Give it one scopeGive it access to your project and only the Query: Read scope. Copy it (it starts with
phx_). - Find your project IDIt's in Project settings, and in the address after
/project/. It's a number, like12345. - Paste it into LoudcodeIn Loudcode, open Settings in the sidebar, find PostHog under Analytics and click Connect. Paste the key and project ID. Add your signup event too if you want signup milestones (see below).
The signup event
The event your app sends to PostHog when someone signs up, like user_signed_up. Copy the exact name from PostHog's Activity or Events list. Leave it empty to track visitors only.
What Loudcode can see
Loudcode can
- Count weekly visitors (unique people)
- Count your signup event, if you set one
Loudcode can't
- See who your visitors are
- Change dashboards, flags or data
- Read session recordings
Troubleshooting
- Signups show 0. Check the event name matches PostHog exactly, including capitals and underscores.
- "This key can't run queries on that project." Edit the key in PostHog: give it access to the project and the Query Read scope.
- "Couldn't find that project ID." Use the number from Project settings, not the project name.
- EU cloud? Both US and EU PostHog cloud work with the same steps.
